The current meta study demonstrates the sector’s hardships caused by the current increase in prices and the pandemic.
Our German member fwd: conducted the study „COST INFLATION TRENDS EVENTS / EXHIBITIONS / TRADE FAIRS 2022“ together with the R.I.F.E.L. Research Institute for Exhibition and Live-Communication. It does not only illustrate the price trends from 2019 to 2022. The survey also points to reasons and effects of this increase in prices. This study is a substantive deepening on the previous Flash study (March ’22) and incorporates also data from our European Industry Survey 2020.
Europe’s live sector is at a turning point: internationalisation is growing, along with complexity and support needs.
The results of the European Industry Survey 2025 learn that internationalization emerges as a key growth driver in live communication. Across the European live communication sector, event professionals are eager to expand – but face gaps in knowledge, infrastructure, and support. In order to fill these gaps a follow-up study is needed.
The 2025 edition of the European Industry Survey – conducted by the German R.I.F.E.L. Institute – focuses on internationalisation as both a strategic opportunity and a challenge for the European live communication industry.
